Sam Hutton, News Editor
As he enters his fourth and final year at CSU and The Collegian, Sam Hutton is returning to his position as news editor, hoping to leave the desk better than he found it. Hutton joined The Collegian September 2022 and served as a student government reporter until his junior year, when he joined the editorial staff.
Hutton is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a concentration in U.S. politics and plans to attend graduate school before pursuing a career as a public administrator. He is grateful for the experience gained, lessons learned and friendships made during his tenure on the news desk, and he is eager for the year ahead.
Growing up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Hutton has made Fort Collins a second home. Hutton’s time serving the communities around him has impacted him more than he thought possible, and he hopes his work shows that impact.
Hutton is cognizant of The Collegian’s long-standing commitment to quality, fact-based news reporting and plans to apply his years of experience to the best of his ability. He’s beyond confident in his colleagues and is excited to make way for the next group of talented news writers at year’s end.
