Barber has been a Fort Collins police officer for eight years with five years of experience on another team. At 17 years old, Barber joined the U.S. Marine Corps. “We don't ever want to lose a fight, and we don't ever want to lose anybody,” Barber said. “But when the person who is in ultimately the most danger is some kids or somebody that can't help themselves at all, that really puts a lot of pressure on the situation.”
