Where does Hillary Clinton stand on the topic of marijuana?

We’d all like to know. The Democratic presidential candidate has been pretty reserved on the topic, until last weekend. Clinton announced Saturday that she supports removing the federal ban on medical marijuana, according to CNN.

“I would like to move it from what is called Schedule 1 to Schedule 2 so that researchers at universities, national institutes of health can start researching what is the best way to use it, how much of a dose does somebody need, how does it interact with other medications,” Clinton said in South Carolina at a town hall meeting.

This is the first time she has shown full support for medical marijuana. In previous debates Clinton has claimed that she is not ready to take a stance on the issue.

This may not be the level of support fellow candidate Bernie Sanders has shown for legalization, but it is the first time Clinton has shown full support to reclassify the drug. To learn more about where the Democratic presidential candidates stand on this topic, check out the full story.
