Kimani Jackson is officially a Colorado State Ram.
CSU head coach Larry Eustachy announced that Jackson, who spent last season at New Mexico Junior College, signed to a National Letter of Intent Thursday, the second day of the men’s basketball NLI signing period. Jackson, a redshirt sophomore, will join CSU for the 2015-16 season and have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

“Obviously with losing three out of four front line guys, we knew adding a big body with some experience would be crucial,” Eustachy said in a press release. “We are really excited to address that with the addition of Kimani. And the best part is that he will have three years of eligibility. He has tremendous upside and has a chance to continue to improve.”
Jackson, rated as the top junior college power forward in the country by 247sports.com, chose Colorado State over offers from Tennessee, Old Dominion, James Madison and Fresno State, and was also recruited by Arkansas, Southern Miss, TCU, Washington State and West Virginia.
As a redshirt freshman at NMJC in 2014-15, Jackson helped the Thunderbirds to second round of the NJCAA Region V Tournament, playing in 24 contests with 10 starts and averaging 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while shooting better than 50 percent from the floor.
Jackson is the fifth signed member of Colorado State’s six-player 2015 class, with Sunrise Prep Academy guard C.J. Keyser expected to sign in the next week or so after committing to the Rams Wednesday.
