Senior guard Gritt Ryder has earned her second consecutive Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor, the conference announced Monday.

Ryder played every minute of both games during the Omni Hotels Classic. In the first round, she matched her career-high with 25 points to help lead the Rams past TCU. She scored 11 points in a double-overtime loss to Colorado in the championship game.

“We’ve asked Gritt to do a lot,” CSU head coach Ryun Williams said. “She guards well, she distributes the ball well, and we’re asking her to score a little more with A.J. (Newton) out. It’s neat to see her accept that responsibility and perform well.”

The Denmark native made six three-pointers in total over the two games to make her the MW’s leading outside shooter (3.0 per game) and recorded eight assists. She also leads the conference in minutes played, averaging 39.2 minutes per game.

CSU (3-2) is on the road this week to play Drake on Wednesday at 6 p.m. MT before traveling to Salt Lake City to take on BYU at noon on Saturday.
