After a strong start now four weeks into the 2013 season, the CSU women’s hockey team travelled to Boston, Mass. for its first road series.
Scheduled to play three games in two days, the Rams began play against Northeaster University on Friday in Matthewshg Arena.
The Rams trailed Northeastern 0-1 through two periods of play before forcing overtime tied at two. CSU continued its winning-streak on a goal by May Wilkerson, her second of the season. In an early morning rematch against Northeastern, CSU ended up on the other end with its first loss of the season. The undefeated streak for the Rams came on a 0-1 loss, resulting in a 1-1 series split.
With minimal time to rest, CSU took the ice against a faster UMass team provided CSU its second loss of the season. The Rams will head to practice this week before taking on Robert Morris on Nov. 1.
The Rams now have a 5-2 record and host Robert Morris this weekend at Edora Ice Center.
