The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, November 21
The first installment of the highly anticipated Hunger Games finale is coming to theaters this fall. The popular franchise, based on the novels by Suzanne Collins, stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, and the final installment acts as a climactic finish, pitting protagonist Katniss Everdeen against President Snow.
Into the Woods, December 25
A modern twist on the Brothers Grimm fairytales, “Into the Woods” is coming to theaters this Christmas. With a star studded cast, the film is likely to be a major hit for the 2014 holiday season.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, December 17
The last part of the Hobbit trilogy, “The Battle of the Five Armies,” is arriving in theaters this fall. The adventures of Bilbo Baggins are brought to a close as the hobbit deals with the deadly dragon Smaug and his destruction of Lake-town.

In anticipation for “Kingdom Hearts III,” which is currently under development, the second Kingdom Hearts game is being re-released in HD. The re-release will also feature an HD re-release of the Playstation Portable game “Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep” and HD scenes from “Kingdom Hearts: ReCoded.”

Old Town Zombie Fest, October 25

It’s basically a Fort Collins tradition. Dress up as a zombie and crawl about Fort Collins to get into the Halloween spirit.
While the Fort Collins ghost tours happen year round, fall is a great time to give the spooky excursion a try.
Malt Monster 5K, October 11
The Fort Collins Brewery is putting on a 5K, and participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite monsters. The race is complete with a costume contest and will be followed by a party.
Horror movies at the Lyric
Throughout October, Lyric Cinema Cafe will be playing horror movies to get Fort Collins ready for Halloween. Movies include “The Shining,” “The Ring” and “Let the Right One In,” among others.
