Savannah Wood, a barista a Bindle Coffee for three years now, pours latte art in a cappuccino at their Jessup Farms location in Fort Collins, CO, Apr 18. When asked what is special about her job Wood described how the job is creative at its core. “It’s a way to have a creative outlet”, Wood , “It’s a craft, you have to be really intentional with it. It takes intention and its fun of course! It is essentially a hobby that you get paid for.”

Savannah Wood, a barista at Bindle Coffee in Fort Collins, CO, steams milk to make a cappuccino at their Jessup Farms location, Apr 18. Wood has been a barista at Bindle for three years. Wood said that she loves the way that coffee brings community together. “People are the reason I love coffee,” says Wood, “I love seeing how many people come in here to meet up for the first time or after a long time. Genevieve Smith, certified herbalist and a kitchen production worker, at Golden Poppy in Fort Collins, mixes together an Immune Chai Tea blend Mar 20. “I love having the ability to to take my health into my own hands,” Smith said, when asked why she enjoys being an herbalist, “as well as having these tools accessible to help my family and friends.” Smith also recounts that part of what she loves about herbalism and holistic medicine is that it is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ mentality.

Kelsey Brons, owner of Ardent Rose Floral Design in Loveland, Colorado, creates an arrangement with leftover flowers from her previous work in her home Feb 16th. Brons said that she has always loved flowers and gardening, as she helped her mother a lot when she was younger in their garden. Brons also mentioned that she wanted to get a job as a floral designer, knowing that her eye for art and love of flowers would help her to learn to craft. Ive never had a job that made me just go, Wow I love this. says Brons, but when I got into floral design I just could not get enough of it.

Brons knew that she wanted to work with flowers since she was young, as she grew up near the foothills in Northern Colorado, picking wildflowers with her mother and neighbors. “My motto is, ‘Be passionate and be faithful,’” Brons says, “All else will follow if these two things are my goal.”
