Student seriously injured in on-campus collision

Colorado State University police responded to an accident that occurred at the intersection of West Pitkin Street and Ellis Drive in front of Academic Village and Edwards Hall at approximately 6:15 p.m. Monday.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies.

In an alert sent by CSUPD to students at approximately 7 p.m. yesterday, it was announced that Pitkin Street would be closed between South Shields Street and Meridian Avenue. This section of Pitkin Street was closed off until around midnight, Ciaravola wrote.

CSUPD is investigating the accident at this time.

Anyone who has information regarding the collision who has not already given a statement to police can contact CSUPD Detective Sean Fitzpatrick at 970-491-7141.
