New fall 2015 classes

Students attending Colorado State University in Fall 2015 will have several new classes available to choose. The new classes range from freshmen level classes such as PSY 152 Science of Learning, to graduate level courses such as FSHN 750 Nutritional Basis of Chronic Disease.

“I feel like there are benefits of taking a class the first time it’s offered,” said Eliza Gilbert, a journalism and media communications sophomore. “Both the students and the professor can learn a lot together.”

When choosing new classes, Robert Tuttle, a senior political science and sociology double major, said that the instructor teaching the course is a part of the decision.

“The professor is a really big factor,” Tuttle said. “I use online sources like ratemyprofessors or koofers for every class I take to see what other people say about the professor. I think that makes one of the biggest differences in how much you get out of the class.”

Gilbert shared the same opinion regarding the importance of instructors.

“There are a lot of factors that play a role in which classes I take,” Gilbert said. “If I can find a professor who I’ve had before and I enjoyed, that is always a big plus. I enrolled in a class this semester solely because I liked the professor, actually.”

Here is the list of classes that are being offered to students for the first time in Fall 2015 according to Jeanne Breiner, assistant registrar:
