A press release stated that Troxell will focus his campaign on bringing solutions to provide economic health and prosperity for citizens, focus on citizen-centered priorities and accountability for a sustainable future and create collaborations and partnerships in our community and region.

“Narrow ideology without facing real issues won’t help us move forward toward a vibrant future for all in our community,” Troxell stated in the press release.

During his eight years on the council, Troxell served as chair of the Futures Committee and is the current Vice Chair of the University Communities Council of the National League of Cities.

Troxell is also a cofounder and member of the Colorado Clean Energy Cluster and the Colorado Water Innovation Cluster. Both bring private and public organizations together to make Northern Colorado a hub for clean energy and water innovation.

Mayor Karen Weikunat is not seeking re-election. Ward Luthi, founder and president of Walking the World, is the only other announced candidate so far.
