Safety recommendations for propane users during wildfire season

The Colorado Propane Gas Association and the Propane Education & Research Council has issued safety recommendations for propane users during wildfire season.

Step one is to be prepared: know how and where to shut off propane, know community’s disaster warning signals and remember to never store propane tanks indoors. Step two is if a fire is a threat: remove combustible debris from area around propane tanks and turn off the service valve on the propane tank and the shutoff valve on all propane appliances. Step three involves recovery: use caution upon re-entering the residence, do not operate electrical switches, cell phones or appliances if you smell leaking gas, contact your propane supplier if any appliances have shifted and schedule a complete inspection of your propane tank and system.

City seeks input on Lincoln Corridor

The City of Fort Collins invites residents to share their vision for the Lincoln Corridor by taking an online survey at The survey shares a variety of different approaches seen in memorable streets from around the world and allows respondents to select what they like. The outcome of the survey will shape the character for the Lincoln Corridor before the design team prepares draft concepts for the street. The survey is open through July 9.

The Lincoln Corridor Plan is a 12-month planning effort with robust public involvement to guide the search for a corridor vision, a design for the street, a list of prioritized improvements and a funding plan. This effort is intended to capture the corridor values, including all modes of transportation, history and culture, neighborhood protection, land use, urban design, river protection and enhancement, water quality and more.
