Wilson says she uses her art to tell stories and to express her feelings around herself and her religion. “When I did my dance I wanted to show a story in it,” Wilson said. “At the beginning I was hiding my face, hiding myself, and I think it was a form of shame. As I’m dancing it’s a way of me learning that I don’t have to hold onto that shame, and I can give it to [God].
