Updated 3/15/13 at 9:00 p.m.

CSU senior point guard Dorian Green is expected to play in CSU’s Mountain West tournament semifinal game against UNLV tonight.

Green suited up for the game and took part in pregame warmups with the rest of the team.

According to a report in the Coloradoan, the CSU coaching staff had confirmed that Green will suit up for the game, but the amount of time he will play is unknown.

Green, who suffered a right ankle sprain in the Rams’ final regular season game against Nevada will make the start for CSU.

Following CSU’s most recent win on Wednesday, coach Larry Eustachy said he was “99.9 percent sure” that Green would be unavailable in tonight’s game.

Green, however, participated in practice on Thursday in addition to shoot around early in the day on Friday.

The Rams and Green will take on UNLV tonight at 9:30 p.m. MT in a MW tournament semifinal game in Las Vegas, Nev.

For the first time in his four year career CSU senior guard Dorian Green will not start for the Rams.

Green will be held out of CSU’s Mountain West Tournament first round match up with Fresno State due to a right ankle injury he sustained in the Rams’ season finale against Nevada.

Following the game, Green vowed to fans that he would be ready to go in the Rams’ first round game, but after going back and forth with CSU coach Larry Eustachy about it, the two decided it would be best for Green to sit out.

The decision snaps a 127 game streak of consecutive starts for Green, a CSU basketball record.

There has been no determination as to Green’s status for the future of the tournament if the Rams advance to the second round.

Starting in Green’s place in the game against Fresno State is junior guard Jon Octeus, who will make his first career start with the Rams Wednesday afternoon.
