Lopez: More can be done for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Lopez: More can be done for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Dominique Lopez, Opinion Director October 20, 2023
October is a busy month for everyone. For students, it means midterms and big projects that must be completed in a few weeks time, and for Colorado State University, it means fall addresses and Homecoming week. But for those of us who have lost loved ones and experienced the tragedy breast cancer can cause, October is a month to remember and reflect.

Seriously: 5 ways to tell your roommate to fill the Brita

Emma Souza, Collegian Columnist October 18, 2023
Most of us know that roommate life has its perks — split rent, constant companionship, a brotherhood or sisterhood or whatever you like to call it — but along with sharing a room comes sharing commodities: a joint fridge, toilet paper that runs out twice as fast and, if you really like the person, maybe even a comb with the loving entanglement of both your hairs. Living with another person is an adjustment. But none of these lifestyle adjustments come close to sharing the demon that is the Brita filter.

Pavelko: Sexual health discussions are important at CSU

Hana Pavelko, Collegian Columnist October 16, 2023
With the flu, COVID-19 and an abundance of other diseases one can contract on a college campus, many students take precautions. Wearing masks, taking vitamins and eating healthy are all good ways to keep healthy during cold and flu season.

MacMahon: Quiet places at CSU to destress from Homecoming

Taylor MacMahon, Collegian Columnist October 12, 2023
Homecoming weekend is a very exciting time, but it can also be very overstimulating. It's important to celebrate in the ways that feel supportive to you, especially because Homecoming is a celebration of Colorado State University and the CSU community, and you are a part of that.

Dominique Lopez, Opinion Director October 12, 2023
I’ve been participating in the Homecoming & Family Weekend activities at Colorado State University by myself for a solid three years now. And by participating, I mean I go to the game and then I go home for the remainder of the evening because I normally work all weekend.

The last thing I expected when Mom stepped off the plane was the half barrel keg sloshing behind her.
Lopez: Have you gotten your costume yet?

Lopez: Have you gotten your costume yet?

Dominique Lopez, Opinion Director October 6, 2023
The month of the spooky season is officially here, and with that come the cool weather and, more than anything, the dilemma of what to wear for a Halloween. Whether it is a costume, a Halloween-themed shirt with a festive hat or a costume you have taken the time to DIY, it is officially the time to start thinking about it seriously.

Seriously: CDC announces sleeveless shirts as new frat flu symptom

Emma Souza, Collegian Columnist October 3, 2023
As the leaves begin to turn and the temperatures begin to drop this upcoming week, preventing the October sicknesses that plague campus is of utmost importance. For those who frequent the Colorado State University fraternities, however, another symptom is just on the horizon, sweeping across the solo-cup masses.

Lopez: 5 fall activities to participate in this October

Dominique Lopez, Opinion Director October 2, 2023
The hot weather doesn’t help in reminding me that it is officially October, but it is, meaning that it is time to enjoy all the fun festivities and activities that are some of my personal favorites to do during the fall season.
Colorado State University defensive back Henry Blackburn (11) has been the target of many death threats after his hit against Travis Hunter Sept. 16.

Lopez: Stop normalizing death threats against athletes

Dominique Lopez, Opinion Director September 28, 2023
Over the past few weeks, the Colorado State University football team has been receiving a lot of media attention after The Rocky Mountain Showdown, specifically in regard to the death threats being made against Henry Blackburn. Every story about it seems to be discussing the death threats as though it is just a normal issue.
