Eustachy gets paid

With Saturday’s win, Colorado State clinched its ninth 20-win season in program history and its second in three seasons under Larry Eustachy. It also means that Eustachy will be a little richer, as he receives a bonus of $40,ooo for winning 20 games in a season.

Avila continues his roll

Senior forward J.J. Avila is the only player in the Mountain West to rank in the top 10 in the league in scoring, rebounding, field-goal percentage, assists per game and steals per game. Avila padded those stats with 15 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Hitting the glass

For the 19th time this season, Colorado State won the rebounding battle over its opponent when the Rams outrebounded UNLV 44-34. The only games CSU didn’t beat its opponent on the glass were, Colorado, New Mexico State, Boise State, Wyoming, which the Rams went 2-2 in.

Droppin’ dimes

CSU tied a season-high with 24 assists on 32 made baskets Saturday afternoon, marking their highest total since their 85-84 win over Denver on Dec. 19. The last time CSU totaled 30 or more assists in a game was Dec. 28, 1992 when it dished out exactly 30 against Fort Lewis.

Vaughn goes off

UNLV guard Rashad Vaughn scored a game-high 30 points on 12-for-21 shooting. It is the second time Vaughn has scored 30 or more this year after scoring 31 against Utah State Jan. 24. Vaughn is averaging a team-high 17.8 point per game this season.
