UPDATE: Jeff Withey was just selected by the Portland Trailblazers. In my opinion, Colton is the next 7ft big man who will be taken.
COLTON IVERSON: As I said earlier, Colton Iverson needs Jeff Withey to come off the board. Although I think he has more scoring talent than Withey, the name Withey carries is more popular. Anthony Bennett was taking No. 1 though. So anything is possible.

TRADE: The Nets have sent a $25 Subway gift card and a 30 rack of Keystone to the Boston Celtics for Kevin Garnette, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry.
FIRST ROUND RECAP:
The first round was pretty much as entertaining as it could have been. Which means it wasn’t entertaining until the 20th pick on. The best part of the end of the 1st round was David Stern’s exit as NBA commissioner. No doubt he is one of the best commissioners of all time.

Pick No. 10: C.J. McCollum, Lehigh. TrailBlazers
Well, maybe Lillard has a backup. This is a little puzzling to see them draft him. Protland needs a center. Greg Oden helped them realize that.
Pick No. 9: Trey Burke, Michigan. Timberwolves
Who else remembers the year that the Timberwolves selected 3 point guards, traded two (Ty Lawson was one), and then the one they kept never played for them that season? They really enjoy drafting point guards. Yet they never improve. I wonder why.
Pick No. 8: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Georgia. Pistons.
Let’s just settle with KCP. I expected the Pistons to take Trey Burke. Yes, they already have a pg, but they needed another solid scorer to develop. That jersey is about to have the named curved down to the hips.

COMMENT: Philly traded Iguodala to the Nuggets for Bynum. Bynum expected to leave. This is a good move.
TRADE ALERT: The New Orleans Pelicans have traded Nerlens Noel to the 76ers for Jrue Holiday
Pick No. 7: Ben McLemore, Kansas. Kings
McLemore was a steel for the Kings. They need a SG who can both score, and play aggressive basketball. Jimmer Freddette was the fun pick for a SG a few years ago. But, McLemore will be a solid pick to run alongside Tyreke Evans and the Kings.
Pick No. 6: Nerlens Noel, Kentucky. Pelicans
Anthony Davis has a new buddy to play the 4 with him. Noel and Davis might be the skinniest and least-muscular post duo in NBA history.
Comment: Why is Ben McLemore still on the board? Someone is about to walk away from murder. He is up there with Olidepo for well-rounded players with star power.
Pick No. 5: Alex Len, Maryland .Suns
As the centers begin falling off the board very quickly, you may see CSU’s Colton Iverson slowly inching higher in the 2nd round.
Pick No. 4: Cody Zeller, Indiana. Bobcats
It will be really cool to see the Zeller brothers go head to head in the most irrelevant games of the year in the NBA. Word around the NBA atmosphere is that Cody will be able to make Tyler look like an amateur in the league,
Pick No. 3: Otto Porter, Georgetown. Wizards
Well, that is really convenient for him. With Georgetown University only a train ride away from the Wizards arena, Otto Porter will have to prove to…well….nobody in the Wizards’ arena, that he was worth more than Noel.
Pick No. 2: Victor Olidepo, Indiana. Magic
Many had the first pick going to either Kentucky’s Noel or Indiana’s Olidepo. Olidepo has the ability to be a star in this league. If he sets his mind to the game and not the fame, he might be the first player in this draft class to be an NBA all star.
Pick No. 1: Anthony Bennett, UNLV. Cavaliers
Who saw that coming? The Mountain West has their first #1 overall pick with the UNLV freshman getting snagged by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many had Bennett going lower, near picks 7 and 8. This is a perfect example as to why the 2013 NBA Draft is full of role players and not super stars.
