Off-Campus Life at Colorado State University held a roommate search event Monday in the Lory Student Center, inviting students to interact with others in the CSU community looking for roommates or housing.
Attendees of the event were asked to select a red name tag if they have a living space and are looking for renters or roommates. Those looking for a place to live were asked to select green name tags. The colors facilitated conversation as they identified what each person was looking for at the event.

“I heard about the event on the Off-Campus Life CSU page,” said Christine Hartley, freshman health and exercise science student. “I decided to come because, well, we need roomies.”
Johnathan Harrison, a freshman business student, attended the event with Harley.
“We were looking at houses because they tend to be cheaper than apartments,” Harrison said. “We’re looking for people that are nice and chill, and to themselves but also outgoing.”
Roommate Roundup events offer a way to connect with others in the CSU community looking to settle living accommodations.
“I’m looking for pretty much anything through the semester,” said Geoff Flora, a senior zoology student. “I’m not in a position to be picky, but I wouldn’t want a roommate that’s too messy or too noisy.”
Off-Campus Life will also be hosting future roommate search events to facilitate off-campus student housing, including additional Roommate Roundups, but also a housing fair March 4 in the LSC Grand Ballroom.
“It’s hard to put yourself out there and be willing to look, especially when you don’t really know the people,” Flora said.
