Rumors suggest Taylor Swift will release a surprise album at the end of this month

Taylor Swift fans everywhere are sitting on the edges of their seats waiting for the end of October to roll around in order to find out if the rumors are true. Will Swift release a surprise album at the end of this month? Some “Swifties” have done the math, literally, and have uncovered a few clues that are leading them to believe that this is the truth. Here are seven reasons to believe that new music from Swift is heading our way in the very near future:

She has released an album every 2 years for the past 10 years.

Swift has released an album every 2 years for the past 10 years, and she’s not usually one to break tradition. Her first album, “Taylor Swift,” was released on Oct. 24, 2006; her sophomore album “Fearless” was released on Nov. 11, 2008; after that, she released “Speak Now” on Oct. 25, 2010; then, “Red” on Oct. 22, 2012; and, most recently, “1989” was released in October 2014. Notably, with the exception of “Fearless,” Swift has has always released her albums in October, and October is ending here shortly. Taylor is running out of time if she doesn’t want to break the tradition and disappoint her loyal fans.

It’s in the numbers.

@dylanlovatic

It is a well known fact that Swift’s favorite number is 13. She was born on Dec. 13, her Twitter handle is @taylorswft13, she frequently writes the number 13 on her hands for performances and numerous other reasons make it clear that 13 is her favorite number. One of Swift’s fans discovered a math equation that could be a reason why Swift would release her album on the 23rd of this month. This is the equation: 1+0+2+3+1+6= 13. It adds up.

A tweet from the president of Swift’s record label has been deleted.

Scott Borchetta, the president and founder of Big Machine Records where Swift was the first artist ever signed, denied the rumors on Twitter. @TSwiftPR tweeted him asking him to settle the rumors, tweeting, “this account is telling people that Taylor Swift’s new album is coming out in October, please settle this.” Borchetta responded “NOPE.”

However, the tweet has since been deleted.

Her best friend Gigi Hadid said she’s back in the studio.

Swift attended the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show during New York Fashion Week where her best friend and supermodel Gigi Hadid quoted that Swift is a great friend for coming to the show, even though she’s back in the studio.

She has newly scheduled performances.

Grand prix performance

Earlier this year, it was announced that Swift was scheduled for her first performance of 2016 at the Formula 1 Race at the Grand Prix in Texas. She also signed a multi-year deal with AT&T, which includes a performance in a pre-superbowl show sponsored by AT&T. She could perform a set of greatest hits, of course, but wouldn’t it make more sense if she used the opportunities to release new music after being out of the spotlight for a while?

This all comes after a bit of bad publicity including an infamous phone call with Kim Kardiashian and Kayne West, a very public breakup with Calvin Harris and the birth and death of a supposed relationship with Tom Hiddleston that the internet referred to as “Hiddleswift.” It would not be surprising at all to see Swift roll out a surprise album in order to throw her name to the top of the charts and headlines in a positive way.

Additionally, Swift was the highest paid musician in 2015 after the release of 1989 at the end of 2014, so she knows how to make the most sales of her albums. Artists tend to release albums in the fall in order to have the most sales with the holiday season not too far away. On top of that, award season is right around the corner, and with Swift already having 19 Grammys to her name, she wouldn’t want to pass up an opportunity to rack in some more.

Regardless of if rumors are true, we are excited for new music from Swift and can’t wait to see how the rumors unfold.
