Ziel: Goodbye, Collegian — the shining star of my college experience

Ziel: Goodbye, Collegian — the shining star of my college experience

Renee Ziel, Night Editor December 7, 2021
Contrary to the journalist I am now, I came into The Collegian a bumbling mess. The copy desk didn’t have room for me at the time, so I went to opinion when they were in want of writers, and thus began my unforgettable Collegian experience.

Cooke: The Collegian is a home for aspirational students

Cody Cooke, Opinion Director December 6, 2021
I joined The Collegian’s opinion desk in December 2019 knowing absolutely nothing about writing for a newspaper besides the fact that I wanted to do it. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was surprised when I showed up to my first meeting in the newsroom to find a table full of students just like me ricocheting ideas off one another.

LFTE: Happy 130th birthday to The Collegian

Serena Bettis and Katrina Leibee December 2, 2021
Today, Dec. 1, marks the 130th anniversary of The Collegian’s first publication. Over that time, we’ve undergone countless changes as we constantly raced to keep up with the ever-changing world of journalism.

LFTE: History is not black and white: Why we made this special edition

Katrina Leibee and Serena Bettis November 18, 2021
As November is Indigenous History Month, and The Collegian staff has many history buffs in its midst, we wanted to create a special edition that would incorporate the history of this land and the stories of this City and campus that we call home. The intent of this publication is to learn and understand what came before us, while both celebrating and critiquing our roots, both at Colorado State University and in the Northern Colorado area.

LFTE: The Collegian is happy to be transitioning to an alt-weekly

Katrina Leibee September 22, 2021
We are so happy to be starting out the 2021-2022 school year so strong. Already we have reported on campus dining halls closing, debated the preachers on the plaza that are always a subject of interest, brought you the most up to date sports, music, and arts coverage and even taught you about fun cannabis products.
