Sunday Gov. Tom Wolf will sign a bill to make Pennsylvania the 24th state to legalize medical marijuana, according to the Denver Post.

The bill was first proposed in 2014 when it passed through the Senate, but was shot down in the House. After months of door to door lobbying, parents celebrated when the House voted 149-46, passing the measure Wednesday.

“Every day we roll the dice on our child’s or our loved one’s life,” said Christine Brann of Hummelstown, whose 5-year-old son is diagnosed epilepsy.

Republican representative Matt Baker strongly opposed the bill, claiming that marijuana abuse and teenage use will go up. Majority of representatives disagreed with this claim, or believed that the help medical marijuana can give to these families outweighs the risk.

There are currently 17 qualifying conditions on this list for people who are eligible to receive medical marijuana prescriptions. To read more about the new bill, see the full article.
