Without any guidance from the federal government, states like Colorado are struggling to finalize a list of chemicals to ban in the production of marijuana.

According to The Cannabist, Myclobutanil, Imidacloprid, Etoxazole, Spiromesifen and Abamectin are the five most commonly used hazardous pesticides in marijuana production.

Chemical and pesticide use is normally monitored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency countrywide. Since marijuana, both medical and recreational, is still illegal federally, states who have legalized the drug are receiving no help from the agency.
