Leah Fair named MW Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Colorado State track and field athlete Leah Fair has earned the distinction of Mountain West Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend at the Mark Colligan Memorial meet in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The junior from Gaffney, South Carolina won both the 60-meter and 200-meter women’s sprints. Fair’s time of 7.52 seconds in the 60-meter sprint is the third fastest mark posted by a MW athlete this season. Her time of 24.13 seconds in the 200-meter sprint ranks first in the conference and 40th nationally.

Fair has now won four out of the five individual races she has competed in during this indoor season. She also took part in the 4×400 women’s relay, in which she helped CSU take third place with a time of 3:46:51.

This award marks the fourth time that Fair has earned a weekly honor from the MW during her CSU career.
