Rams move up to No. 7 in Coaches Poll

The Colorado State volleyball team continued its climb up the AVCA Coaches’ Poll Monday, jumping one spot to No. 7. After defeating then-No. 18 Arizona State, Pepperdine and North Carolina Central, the Rams improved to 12-1 on the season and are the only Mountain West team in the poll.

Reynolds garners Player of the Week honors

It was also announced Monday that CSU senior outside hitter has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Player of the Week after her performance this past weekend in the Residence Inn Invitational in Tempe, Arizona. A native of Dalhart, Texas, Reynolds earned tournament MVP honors while averaging 2.91 kills per set on .373 hitting over 11 total sets. Reynolds also added six total blocks on the weekend. Reynold’s honor is the second in as many weeks for the Rams after fellow senior Kelsey Snider was named the player of the week.

Starting center Bennett likely out for season

The already-depleted Colorado State offensive line took a hit Monday when head coach Jim McElwain announced that starting center Jake Bennett is likely out for the season with a knee injury. Bennett was one of four new starters on the line and replaced former Ram and New York Giants second-round pick Weston Richburg. Starting guard Fred Zerblis is listed as the starting center for this week’s game at Boston College with left tackle Nick Callender moving into guard after the return of All-Mountain West tackle Ty Sambralio from a knee injury.

Watch party set for CSU-Boston College football game

The Colorado State Athletics department announced Monday that it will host official game-watch parties for all of the Rams’ road football games at The Boot Grill in Fort Collins. Located at 130 W. Laurel next door to the CSU Bookstore, the Boot will give Rams fans a chance to gather to watch their team play. The events kick off this Saturday, Sept. 27, as CSU travels to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to take on Boston College. The game is set for 10:30 a.m. MT and The Boot Grill will be open.
