Peyton Manning : Enough said

Peyton Manning is one of the most recognizable players in the National Football League(NFL). With nick name the “sheriff” for his routine pre-snap, Manning with time outside the pocket is a pivotal asset to the Broncos offense. In the 2013-14 season alone he lead the Denver Broncos to a victory over the reining super bowl champions, The Baltimore Ravens, with seven passing  touchdowns in one game, becoming the sixth player in NFL history to do so. Manning is also one of two players to have a 7:0 touchdown to interception ratio in a single game. At the end of the regular season Manning recorded 55 touchdown passes as well as throwing a league record of 5,477 yards.

If you are going to make any comment on Manning during the game, bring up his accuracy on the pass and his ability to make first downs in a third and long situation.

Denver Broncos Record Breaking Offense

Broncos offense: Thus far this season, the Denver Broncos have scored 49,41,27,52 in a matter of four games. With a solid offensive line not only on the run but on the pass,  Manning will look to connect with players such as Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas, Knowshon Moreno and Wes Welker, these are the most recognizable Broncos on the field.

When the Broncos have control of the ball, keep an eye on number 87 Eric Decker and 83 Wes Welker for a long pass down the sideline or a short pass that will result in a large offensive gain. If the Seahawks are not playing strong defense, it is very likely that the Broncos can run away with the game.

Season Struggles for the Broncos

A struggle on the season for the Broncos has been  the pass defense. Denver has only been beaten by the Patriots and Chargers this season and nearly the Dallas Cowboys with a 51-48 final score. In order to keep points off the Seakhawks side of the score board the Broncos are going to need to compete against Seattles offense and cover (add players). When the Broncos take a break from defense, the opponents tend to make them pay for it. Especially with a quarterback like Wilson.

If you are going to make any comment on Wilson during the game, bring up his ability to make big play in big situations, such as he did on a huge fourth down touchdown thrown in the NFC Championship Game against the 49ers. Wilson has the advantage over Manning at running the ball and then throwing it.

Seattle Seahawk’s in full strength on offense, look out for Lynch

Sea Hawks offense – Unpredicted heading into the Super Bowl, the Seahawks will be back in strength with wide receiver Percy Harvin. Earlier in the season Harvin was out recovering from a concussion but it reportedly healed for the game. Harvin average 11.1 yards per reception, with two touchdowns and 14 plays of 20 yards. The greatest asset by far Harvin brings to the offense is 32 yards per return.

While Harvin will be a great asset to the Seahawks offense, nothing starts the offense going quite so much than Marshawn Lynch. Described as a beast on the field, he has rushed 1257 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season along with three 100 yard games.

Richard Sherman: Most hated in Super Bowl XLVIII

As if any fans were undecided heading into the Super Bowl, most of the world will be cheering against Richard Sherman. After his recent media blow up after an interview with Erin Andrews immediately following the victory over the shouting he is the best quart in the game along with mentioning that Michael Crabtree is a sorry receiver.

Break down of the scoring and rules:

Touchdowns: Each touchdown scored is six points. At the point of scoring each team has a choice kicking a field-goal for one point or going for two, which would be but rush or passing.

Field Goals

With roughly anywhere as little as 20 yards to 60 yards(for Matt Prater of the Broncos) a field goal happens when the offense does not make a third down and the coach is not calling for a go for it fourth down. A kicker will line up to kick the ball, as long as it goes through the uprights, it is good. In the case that it hits the post, it is no good. Each field goal is worth three points.

Touch-back:

Occurs when an official calls the ball dead on or behind a teams own goal line.

Onside kick:

Is a kick off that is intentionally kicked short, most often to the sideline where the team kicking looks to maintain possession of the ball before the receiving team has time to control it.

Can there be a tie?

While I am sure many fans that do not care about either team wishes there could be a tie game in the Super Bowl, it is impossible.
