Junior Emily Roering put the CSU women’s golf team’s best foot forward on the first day of the Mountain West women’s golf championship.The Glenwood, Minnesota native shot a 73 to finish one stroke above par.
San Diego State freshman Emma Henrikson trailed Roering by one stroke while no golfer finished under par in the first round.

The Rams finished tied for fifth with Nevada as a team, shooting 28 strokes above par.
Fresno State leads the team scoring at +18.
Five golfers play 18 holes for each team, and the top four scores on every team are averaged to produce the team’s score.
The tournament will continue through Saturday.
Roering will tee off at 11 a.m. MT with Nevada’s Nikki Prichard and UNLV’s Katerina Prorokova.
