Forecast: Stormy afternoons ahead

Temperatures Thursday afternoon are expected to be more than ten degrees above normal, nearing the 80 degree mark. A weak thunderstorm is possible throughout the remainder of the daylight hours. This is all ahead of a cold front expected to arrive around 6:00pm — behind it is when we get more energy for some storms. Expect rain and some rumbles of thunder as the suns set and into the night.

For your Friday, a lot of that moisture will still be around. So be prepared for an overcast day with more showers and storms arriving in the afternoon. A rain jacket would be a good choice of apparel for Friday. Temperatures are knocked back to the 60s thanks to the clouds.

Afternoon showers and storms are forecast over the weekend as well. Temperatures should return to the 70s with partly cloudy mornings and a storm or two after 2:00pm. The real moisture arrives next week, with precipitation intensifying on Monday and lasting into Tuesday. Clouds blanket the area then too.
