For more than a decade, the sisters of Kappa Kappa Gamma have hosted Chili Con Kappa to raise funds for different philanthropies and this Wednesday, October 16th, the tradition will continue. The funds raised will be donated to assist the family of Gerry Boland. Mr. Boland was the Grandfather of a Kappa sister; he lost his life in the recent flood that swept through Lyons, Colorado. The flood destroyed his home, vehicles, and most personal belongings. Last year, the evening was one of the ladies most successful by raising more than $2,500 and this year, the chapter hopes to expand the event through the addition of live music. Tommy Simmons, a Seattle, Washington native, will be performing.
Included in the $7 entry fee is a baked potato, chili, a roll and chips and salsa as well as the live music. Kappa President Kat Jaeger encourages everyone in the CSU community to come out and support as the flood effected so many students and their families, we can all relate to help make this time easier for the Boland family. The event will be held at the Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter house from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The house is located at 729 South Shields, directly west of the towers. So come out and enjoy the evening of chili, music and friends to raise money for a great cause!
