From September 15th to October 15th, CSU in collaboration with El Centro celebrates the Hispanic heritage month. Today, every 6th American is a Latino and Colorado itself has about 1,038,687 Latino residents. All of whom have helped this country grow. It is the month of the year where we join hands to celebrate the culture of one of the largest minority of Colorado.
To do just that an event was organized on the evening of 17th of September 2013 outside the campus recreation centre. This event was to kick off the national Hispanic heritage month and starred the performance painter, Armando Silva. He used some wonderful interactive techniques to paint and entertain the audience present.
Many of the multicultural organization came to support the event and the national Hispanic month. Among those organizations was Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. Our fraternity was tabling for the event so that we could join our voices to support our Hispanic brothers and sisters in the diverse society of CSU.
Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc, like all other multicultural organizations that were present there, believes in strengthening ties between multiple diverse groups and strengthening our nation. It believes in giving voice to minorities to put forward their problems and help them celebrate their culture and origin. This has been fairly easy with the support CSU provides for the diverse groups on campus and helping them out to get their point across about their culture.
