Drake Road will be closed for asphalt repairs west of McClelland Drive between 5 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 28, according to a press release from the City of Fort Collins.

Anyone looking for detour routes can use Prospect Road, South College Avenue, Horsetooth Road and South Shields Street. Business access will be maintained.

Detour routes for pedestrians and bicyclists include McClelland Drive, Mason Trail and Bay Road/Redwing Road.

According to the release, these repairs are necessary to keep the traveling public safe, as the current asphalt is only temporary and needs to be replaced with permanent asphalt.

Drake Road experienced railroad track repairs last winter, but because of low temperatures, City crews couldn’t complete permanent asphalt repairs on either side of the tracks.
