Colorado State University announced on Saturday that the B wing of the Andrew G. Clark building will be renamed to Ann Gill Hall following reconstruction. Clark B was once a bridge between Clark A and Clark C before it was officially demolished Sept. 2024 as a part of the $137 million Clark Revitalization project.
Originally completed in 1968, Clark serves as the main College of Liberal Arts building and is one of the most utilized facilities on campus. The revitalization project, which so far excludes Clark C, began in Jan. 2024 after years of planing. Clark A is expected to reopen in 2026 and the new Ann Gill Hall is expected to be completed in 2027.
CSU released the following statement on Instagram:
“Ann Gill Hall will become a hub for civic learning, public dialogue and ethical leadership,” part of the statement reads. “It will be a place where students come not only to learn, but to imagine a better future and to prepare themselves to build it.”
Ann Gill worked at CSU for nearly 36 years and served as Liberal Arts Dean from 2005 to 2016. She passed Oct. 24, 2024 at the age of 73.
“Ann was the definition of a true CSU Ram,” CSU President Amy Parsons said in a 2024 interview with Source. “She dedicated her life and career to propelling countless students toward success. Her love for teaching and mentoring was always front and center, and everything she did could be traced back to helping students learn and grow. Ann’s powerful intellect and effective leadership were matched only by her profound generosity. We are a better university because Ann was part of us.”
Following retirement, Gill remained an active member of the CSU Alumni Association and helped establish seven scholarship funds. Her legacy has been memorialized in CSU history as a beacon of Liberal Arts success.
“Ann was more than an excellent faculty member and dean, she was a mentor, a champion, a visionary leader in the College of Liberal Arts, and most of all, an unwavering advocate for student success,” CSU’s statement reads.
Ann Gill Hall will be four stories high and approximately 120,000 square feet in total, providing an additional 90,000 feet of new space. A video rendering of the prospective building can be found on CSU’s College of Liberal Arts YouTube page.
