In her third year at Colorado State University and her second year working with The Rocky Mountain Collegian, Addie Mitchell is thrilled to explore and share all the artistic opportunities that the Fort Collins and Colorado State University communities have to offer through her new position as the editor for the arts and entertainment desk. 

Mitchell is currently studying English with a concentration in creative writing and Spanish, and her writing has been featured in the 2025 and 2026 editions of CSU’s literary journal, Greyrock Review. 

Before attending CSU, Mitchell hadn’t imagined getting involved in journalistic writing. However, through The Collegian, she’s learned to focus on the ways in which journalism itself can act as a lens to delve into the communities and cultures that make up our world, and she has since sought to get even more involved.

In her role at the A&E desk, she hopes to help The Collegian continue to exist as a space of collaboration and discovery for readers and reporters alike, similarly to what it has become for her. 

Some other very important things to know about Mitchell are that she adores mice and other small rodents, she’s a huge admirer of strange fashion and will frequently clash patterns and layers and she has collected a frankly disgusting number of Fuggler stuffed animals. 

Mitchell is so excited for this year, and she hopes to honor and uphold the values and goals of the A&E desk to the best of her abilities.
