Illinois draws in over $211K during first week of legal marijuana sales

In early November medical marijuana was legalized in Illinois. According to the Associated Press, dispensaries sold over $211,000 worth of inventory during the first week of sales.

The first pot shops opened their doors to patients Nov. 9. Since then over 806 customers have purchased marijuana at a rate of around $16 a gram, plus a seven percent sales tax.
