The Howler Outdoor Film Festival

Premiering up and coming film makers and the importance of saving where we recreate!


New Belgium, Jackson Kayaks, Sweet Protection, The Wright Life, Foco Living, NewEra Colorado

When: 7:30pm on April 27th, 2019

Where: The Lyric’s Outdoor Venue @ 1209 N College Ave, Fort Collins

Event Details: The Howler Film Festival will be a great event displaying up and coming film makers and showing the importance of protecting the areas we recreate in. Our films so far consist of urban climbing, paraskiing, hiking on the Colorado Trail, high-lining, skiing, etc. At our event there will be booths from our sponsors, a silent auction to get some amazing steals on gear including three Sweet Protection Helmets, and swag giveaways during the whole event. There will also be food served from the kitchen of The Lyric and beverages for adults and children inside and outside the building. New Belgium will be offering 2$ off cans of Fat Tire and Fat Tire White for those who like beer. For a ticket to this free event, please visit The Lyric’s website one week before the screening, tickets are only needed if attendance has reached capacity. Make sure to bring chairs and blankets to the event as it is an outdoor venue and invite your friends. Lets be honest, there is no better way to end an action packed Saturday then with a bunch of awesome outdoors films and a refreshing Fat Tire, so come join us!

Film Makers: The Festival will premier outdoor films from all over. Anything from skydiving, to climbing, to whitewater kayaking, to mountain biking, are welcomed. Out of chosen films, three will be picked as the winners by our judge panel. The winners will receive gear and prize money. (Gear only if present at event)

Submission Details: All films will be reviewed and the top 15-20 will be chose by a panel of judges. FILMS WILL BE ANNOUNCED April 10th, 2019. Out of the 15-20 videos the 3 top videos will receive gear and prize money as an award.

DEADLINE is March 18th, 2019 

LATE DEADLINE is April 8th, ,2019 

    • 15 minute max length 
    • Appropriate for public viewing
    • Films must be from January 2017 to present

Submissions: Please upload on Vimeo and email a screener link and include your name, the film title, run time, languages, and year completed to, if selected you will be asked to send the high quality video.
