KCSU, CTV go on the road for volleyball

 KCSU, CTV go to Seattle

The CSU women’s volleyball team enjoyed another successful season, posting a 29-1 regular-season record before losing a heartbreaker in the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
KCSU-FM Sports Director Nick Baker and Color Analyst Sean Garber traveled to Seattle to call the action for the team. KCSU is the official radio home for CSU volleyball, and games can be streamed each season at KCSUFM.com. Baker also wrote the postgame story for the Rocky Mountain Collegian.
Also along for the trip was CTV sports reporter Cory Odom, who produced video reports for CTV Channel 11 as well as the CTV YouTube channel.
“After five years of Volleyball calls, I’ve seen a lot of away venues and a lot of new formats,” Baker said. “I had many firsts when we went to Seattle. Calling the game from an elevated box was new and an incredible experience but I’m sure I’ll need to call other sports in the future. Writing an article for the Collegian really helped sharpen my timeliness and article writing skills to get the article in at an appropriate deadline. Taking Sean and Cory helped expand my leadership skills, being the veteran who kind of knew his way around things and imparting that knowledge onto two other journalists who wish to pursue this field.”
