News surfaced about Armando Montano, the Colorado native and AP intern who was found dead in Mexico, being an “out gay journalist” and a member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, according to Metro Weekly. Entertainment Weekly sites the fact that celebrities are coming out using a nonchalant and matter of facts formula that many of us wonder if they had been gay before and we simply neglected to notice. This raises the question, does it really even matter anymore? Or rather, have we moved beyond a time where the shock value no longer merits the front page of Time Magazine? I for one hope so.
