With the recent events on campus, we as a student government want to echo the sentiments made by our University President Dr. Tony Frank. We urge all students to review the email Dr. Frank sent to the CSU community. The message and tone truly reflect what we must do as a CSU community. We support the First Amendment right to free speech and peaceful assembly, and we believe there is no place for hate on this campus.
In a letter by Hank Stowers to the editor on Wednesday, several statements were set forth that must be corrected. While I personally have never met him, nor has he ever made direct inquiry regarding Turning Point USA's views and perspectives, he proffered an inciting and misguided analysis of TPUSA. For clarity, I offer this response:
Letter to the Editor: Residence Hall Association (RHA) voted Monday to do nothing about the opioid crisis. This letter it is meant to bring attention to this important issue.

As a sitting member of ASCSU, I was deeply saddened by the letter the CSU Board of Directors addressed to my colleagues this week. It is disheartening when those who represent our university do not stand by those who were also elected to represent our university.
