Ever miss the old days of alternative, where the sound was unique and a little less pop-y? Well, pine no more, my friends.

“Sonic Youth has long walked the raucous line between noise and melody, using distortion as a tool of illumination — much how Jean-Michel Basquiat would cross out words in his paintings to draw the viewer’s eye closer to decode what lies beneath. It’s not surprising that Thurston Moore has enlisted legendary shoegazer bassist Deb Googe of My Bloody Valentine along with SY drummer Steve Shelley for his latest tour and solo album, “The Best Day.””
