Despite the popularity of Thor, especially with the recent release of Thor 2, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby missed a few details about Norse mythology when they brought Thor into the universe in 1962.
According to io9, had they accurately depicted his character “they would have been arrested, because Norse myths are full of murder, mayhem and weird sex, most of which still wouldn’t be publishable nowadays.”
