Best obscure prop bets for Super Bowl 50

Emmett McCarthy

The best part about the Super Bowl? You can bet on all kinds of weird stuff. Here are my favorite weird prop bets:

If Steph Curry is show on TV during the broadcast what will he be wearing?

Personalized Carolina Steph Curry Jersey: 1/1

No Jersey: 2/1

Cam Newton Jersey: 3/1

Any Other Carolina Jersey: 5/1

Photos of Steph showing off his personalized Panthers jersey have oddsmakers thinking that this a lock. However, he also has been spotted rocking a Cam Newton jersey. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ayesha Curry in the personalized jersey while Steph dawns the “1” on his chest with “Newton” across the back. At 3-to-1 odds, why not?

Who will the Super Bowl MVP mention first?

God: 2/1

Team: 2/1

City/fans: 6/1

Coach: 15/2

Family: 15/1

Does not mention anyone above: 9/4

Going against God is not a great feeling, both morally and betting-wise, but Cam Newton did just have a son, so maybe Family is not a bad bet.

Which song will Coldplay play first during the halftime show?

Adventure of a Lifetime: 2/1

Fix You: 7/2

A Sky Full of Stars: 9/2

Viva la Vida: 5/1

Clocks: 15/2

Speed of Sound: 9/1

Head Full of Dreams: 10/1

Paradise: 10/1

I’ll admit I don’t know much about Coldplay, but I have heard of “Speed of Sound”. I’ll stay away from this one, but those odds are tempting.

Odds to win MVP

Brandon McManus: 66/1

It’s a long shot, but if there was ever a team that could win a Super Bowl without scoring a touchdown, it would be this Broncos squad. Imagine Denver wins 15-13 with all of its points coming from field goals. Actually, they would still find a way to give Peyton the MVP, so maybe stay away from this one as well.
