Perhaps 13 isn’t that unlucky of a number, surely CSU volleyball could vouch for it.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its weekly poll on Monday and in it, the Rams jumped up four spots to the No. 13 team in the nation. Now improved to a 13-0 record, CSU remains one of only three teams in the entire country still yet to lose a match and remain standing undefeated.

The No. 13 mark is the highest the Rams have been ranked since 2010, when they jumped out to a 22-2 record. Throughout program history, CSU have been nationally ranked for a total of 239 weeks, more frequently than all but 14 teams in the NCAA.

The Rams picked another win last Thursday in Reno against Mountain West rival Nevada, winning three sets to one. The four-spot bump put CSU ahead of No. 14 Ohio State, No. 16 Arizona State and No. 17 Michigan. For the sixth time in the last seven polls, the No. 1 spot has been surrendered, this time Washington after suffering a loss at CU-Boulder on Friday. The top ranking is now held by Southern California (14-1).

This week CSU faces off against two conference opponents, first taking on Utah State (9-6, 3-2 MW) on Thursday and then Boise State (8-7, 2-3 MW) on Saturday. Both matches will take places at Moby Arena, as the Rams return home for the first time in almost three weeks.

First serve on Thursday is at 7p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
