In another night of Moby Magic, there seemed to be no limit to what this Rams volleyball team will achieve.
Saturday’s game against Boise State was one sided, all in favor of CSU. The Rams showed up strong on the offense, eager to claim their 15th victory of the season, not knowing it would be in front of 4,801 fans.

The turnout was good for the 10th best in program history.
“I truly think it is a once in a life time experience,” Michelle Lawrence said. “I thought it was incredible, and I mean Moby does get a lot of a big crowds a majority of our games. Having four thousand-plus fans there was just really I don’t even know how to put it into words; it is just an incredible feeling.”
A roar from the crowd, a dive across the court and the swing of 41 kills all contributed towards a three-set sweep against Boise State (25-15, 25-15 ,25-18). Saturday’s win extended the Ram’s record to (15-0, 6-0 MW) while remaining one of two undefeated teams in the NCAA.
Boise State falls to (8-9, 2-5 MW) on the season.
“I know I speak for my team and saying that we appreciate the fans support that we get,” head coach Tom Hilbert said. “You take that environment that we had tonight, that’s to me what makes Colorado State volleyball so special.”
In set one, the Broncos showed initiative on a 3-1 lead. Undeterred, the Rams answered with the attack of Samanatha Peters and a defensive dive from Jamie Colaizzi to gain the lead and eventually win the set.
“We knew that starting Sam in the left front that Sam would have a good match both blocking and hitting,” Hilbert said. “That indeed did happen, she was great tonight.”
“I approach every match with the possibility of being the go-to player, and just think about it that way so I’m not surprised when I have to put the ball away,” Peters said.
The CSU offense had its hands on all balls able to get a swing on it. Adrianna Culbert (6), Kelsey Snider (6), Marlee Renolds(4) and Lawrence (8) kills on the night, ending the attack at .393.

The Broncos slid into a deep hole on the attack after every swing. Sarah Horton and Alyssa Gammel were held to a combined eight kills on the night, contributing half of its overall team total.
Boise State ended at .020 after a set three .194, not making a scratch in set one at -.079 and set two at -.077. Due to the low numbers on the attack for Boise State, CSU benefited from points given away on errors. The Broncos had 26 errors on the attack and five service errors.
“This was a great game, Boise State is a difficult team to prepare for,” Hilbert said. “They are very fast, you have to get your hands on balls, you gotta play defense to beat them and you have to serve them tough because they are very uncomfortable if they don’t pass well.”
Saturday was a game lead, controlled and determined by the Rams. Another win under the belt of CSU as it prepares for the road in the upcoming week.
“We don’t approach any game the same way,” Peters said. “This team has a great mentality of coming into every game thinking were the underdog, that we have to win it. We don’t assume were going to win any game that we play.”
