Woman stabbed at Jefferson Park Tuesday morning

Jesse Clay Burton, 28, was arrested and is being held at the Larimer County Jail after she was accused of stabbing another woman early Tuesday morning in Jefferson Street Park, Fort Collins.

Jewel Gibbs, 25, victim of the stabbing, was found at the scene after the Fort Collins Police received the phone call at approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday.

After being transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies, Gibbs was found with serious bodily injuries but will likely survive, according to the Fort Collins Police.

The stabbing was a result of an argument between Gibbs and Burton, according to the Fort Collins Police. Witnesses state that the women may have known each other prior to the argument.
