Two males threw a lit firework into a large dumpster near the north side of Corbett Hall on campus Thursday night, according to Senior Communications Coordinator Dell Rae Ciaravola.

The dumpster closest to West Laurel Street was on fire when the incident occurred near 11 p.m. Thursday night. The fire was contained within the dumpster and there was no threat to Corbett Hall or the surrounding areas, according to Ciaravola. Poudre Fire Authority put the fire out by 11:15 p.m.

A section of West Laurel Street was closed from South Washington Avenue to Armstrong Avenue. It is known that one of the males is not a CSU student and it is not clear if the second male is a student, according to Ciaravola.
