At approximately 10:25 p.m, power went out in all businesses lining West Elizabeth Street from South Shields Street to City Park Avenue.

Yum Yum Restaurant was one of several businesses affected by the power outage.

“This is my first blackout while working at a bar,” said Callie Barker, a server and bartender at Yum Yum Restaurant. “It’s actually kind of fun — everyone is handling it pretty well.”

Power is out from the Qdoba Mexican Grill, located at 1104 W. Elizabeth St., at least until the Fatafeat Mediterranean Cuisine, located at 1401 W. Elizabeth St.

“I have tabs open and I have phone numbers for everybody that’s sitting in here, and I know all of them,” Barker said. “It’s all people who had been here prior (to the power outage). No new customers.”

Following the power outage, many took to Twitter and YikYak seeking information. Power outages were reported at Ram’s Village, the District and Plum Street. Stoplights on Shields Street were also reported to be down.
