According to police, the shooting occurred in the alley between College Avenue and Mason Street, near the Alley Cat Café. There is currently a suspect in custody, identified as Andrew Michael Watkins. Watkins is not a CSU student.

The suspect and victim, both males, knew each other, meaning the victim was not chosen at random. It is likely there was not a threat to public safety during or after the incident, according to Fort Collins Police.
