Editor’s note: A previous version of this article stated that fraternities were introduced to the college in 1915. Secret organizations were first recorded by the Silver Spruce in 1903, which led to the formation of Alpha Kappa Epsilon in November of that year. However, this fraternity was not recognized on a national level.
