City council and mayoral candidates to debate Wednesday in Lory Student Center

CTV and the Coloradoan are hosting the 2015 City Council Debate, Wednesday in the Lory Student Center Theatre from 7-9 p.m.

While no tickets are available, students can watch the debate live on channel 11, Collegian.com or on the Collegian App.

Mayoral candidates include Ward LuthiMike Pruznick and Wade O. Troxell. The elected mayor will serve a two year term. 

Candidates for district 2 include Ray Martinez and Nancy Tellez. The district 4 candidates are Eric Kronwall and Kristin Stephens, and the district 6 candidates are Gerry Horak and Carl Wangsvick. Council members will serve four year terms.

The candidates will be asked to address how the city should best grow. Topics will include how to manage the city’s transportation system, how to encourage economic development, how to create an economically diverse community and how to partner with Colorado State University.

The debate will be moderated by Coloradoan Executive Editor Lauren Gustus and hosted by City Government Reporter Kevin Duggan. All candidates agreed to attend.

The event is free to the public. No audience member demonstrating support for a candidate through a button, t-shirt or sign will be admitted.
