The wait is over: the newly renovated Ramskeller is now up and running in the new Lory Student Center.

The on-campus pub opened its doors Monday, after spending more than a year temporarily relocated near the LSC bookstore.ramskeller

Since opening in 1968, the Ramskeller has remained a popular watering hole for both students and staff.

“I’m done with classes at 10:50 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays,” said junior food science and human nutrition student Scott Pinelli. “The ‘Skeller is my last stop before I go home.”

The pub is now where it was originally located, in the lower level of the west side of the LSC.

Senior CSU economics student David Stassi was one of the first students to buy a beer at the new Ramskeller.

“I’m looking forward for my parents to see it,” Stassi said. “They both came to the old ‘Skeller when they were students here, they’re looking forward to coming back and seeing this. They were here from 1980 to 1984, when there was still a bowling alley down here.”ramskeller

The new Ramskeller has 20 beers on tap, five more than previously available, and a variety of bottled beverages available.

In addition to beer and wine, the pub also provides a variety of bar snacks for their patrons to purchase. The pub is open Monday through Friday, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Andrew Yourick, a senior fermentation science and technology student, is excited for the Ramskeller to be open.

“If you have a few hours between classes, (you) might as well hang out, maybe get some homework done and have a beer,” Yourick said.
