Colorado Gubernatorial debate to be held at Colorado State Thursday

A Gubernatorial debate for the State of Colorado will be held at CSU on Thursday.  The debate will pit the current Governor of Colorado John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, against the Republican Candidate, former U.S. representative Bob Beauprez.

Hickenlooper is running for his second term as Governor of Colorado after being elected to his first term in 2011.  Bob Beauprez represented Colorado’s 7th district in the United States House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007.


The debate will be co-hosted by the Fort Collins Coloradoan and KUSA.  Live video of the event will be broadcast on KUSA Channel 20 and online at

The debate will be held in the Lory Student Center theatre at CSU from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m on Thursday October 9th.

The debate will be focused around questions relevant to Northern Colorado, as determined by local residents and the League of Women Voters.  The candidates will also answer questions from CSU students as well as questions that are relevant statewide.
